Lip Balm Feature- Friday Favourites

After a long winter, our lips are in desperate need of some TLC. We at The Amazing Blog would love to present you with some of our favourite new options for hydrating lip care products.

Flying Wild shares the healing power of beehives with the world by producing organic beeswax based skincare from their small farm in Ballinderry, Ireland. We were given the opportunity to try the handmade Organic beeswax lip balm with raw Irish honey and rosemary, and we loved how natural and soothing it is. It contains deep moisturising grapeseed oil, protecting beeswax, healing raw Irish honey from their own beehives, refreshing rosemary, and anti-oxidising vitamin E—all of which keep our lips feeling renewed, hydrated, and protected. The creamy texture is lightweight and non-greasy, which means that it’s perfectly suited to wearing underneath other makeup products.

The Organic beeswax lip balm is available here for £3.99.

We recently raved about one of Lacrème Beauté’s bee venom products, but now we would like to introduce the organic rose lip balm. This luxuriously simple product nourishs and protects the lips from harmful UV rays with a blend of Organic Beeswax, organic coco butter, organic shea butter, almond oil, and essential oil of rose otto. The soft rose scent is quite soothing, and the light pink hue adds a slight sheen to brighten a dull complexion. The lightweight formula absorbs quickly so that you’re left with nourished lips all day long.

Purchase your own organic rose lip balm for £12 here.

The new Tinted Luxe Balms from Rouge Bunny Rouge combines an ultra-hydrating lip treatment formula with just the right amount of color. Just Bee - Nourishing Hand Cream

Just Bee Blog

It is no secret that we at The Amazing Blog love everything and anything to do with bees. With the UK’s increasingly volatile weather systems, and a particularly brutal summertime, the British bee has recently suffered. With the dramatically declining numbers, to find out how you can help, see: Help Save The Bees and The Beekeepers Association. Such is the nationwide concern that even our Exec Ed, Edwina keeps toying with idea of putting a hive on her central London roof terrace! Therefore, we’re extremely happy to introduce you to our latest find Just Bee.

Just Bee is a family owned enterprise producing luxury skincare and scented candles. They have a 55 year tradition of beekeeping in the family and keep 125 hives, dotted around rural West Somerset. With beeswax and honey harvested from their family bees, helps to keep their products as natural as possible and the selected scents used come from essential oils and are handmade on our farm.  Something you might not know is that both the Egyptians and Romans used beeswax on their skin - this is well-documented. Not only does beeswax act as a natural anti-inflammatory, it is also antibacterial, anti-allergenic and contains vitamin A. It is naturally hydrating and particularly good for sufferers of eczema or psoriasis. We mustn't forget to mention that Just Bee not only produces skincare but candles too.

We picked the Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream to try. Made with a combination of beeswax and honey, the cream seals moisture into the skin and is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic. It unscented and also has added rosehip and sweet almond oil, which helps to rejuvenate the skin with its anti-aging properties. Best of all it's Fragrance-free and the natural ingredients leave hands silky soft with a gentle scent of honey. It has become a firm favourite as it is not only rich and moisturising for our hands but also for lips too! We like multipurpose products and this certainly has proved to be just that. Our Exec Ed is so impressed with this handy cream, that she closely guards it on her desk. It’s great value at £12.50 for a sturdy 250ml bottle with pump and... We think that this should be shared as everyone’s desk essential – hear that Exec Ed?!

REAMIN Hand Protective Cream

reamin blog image If there is one product that we cannot get enough of here at The Amazing Blog office, it is hand cream. Currently, we have four sitting on the desk, and any one is reached for multiple times a day. Although we seem to have endless amounts, we are always on the search for more. We recently came across a brand called REAMIN, which has developed a range of hand creams formulated for salon professionals, but is equally fantastic for everyone. We were lucky enough to sample their original and unscented formulas here at The Amazing Blog, and they have been sitting at our desks being happily used ever since as we love the formula.

REAMIN was specially developed to create an invisible shield for those who have their hands in water or wet substances frequently. It protects the skin and nails from the damage of prolonged water exposure due to the beeswax in the formula. People who work in these conditions are also exposed to many chemicals that can cause contact dermatitis. Dermatitis is essentially a skin rash, commonly known as Eczema. REAMIN is a wonderful solution for people who suffer from dermatitis, as the lotion provides the protective barrier that their skin needs. For salon professionals, not only will REAMIN protect your hands, but it is also safe to use as a perm barrier cream for clients. The Original formula smells lovely, almost like honey, and feels incredible. We absolutely love it here at the office. When you first apply, do not be alarmed by the stickiness. It absorbs quickly and then feels like silk on the hands.

If you would like more information about REAMIN and its benefits for the skin, visit their website. There you will also find links to where to purchase for individual retail and to stock in a salon. The bottles are very big and will last a long time, perfect for any household kitchen, or hairdresser’s station. Prices start from £3.60 plus VAT for a 75ml bottle.

Jane Scrivner - Nourishing Cleanser

laras tuesday cleanser A few weeks back we featured on The Amazing Blog Jane Scrivner's Skin Elixir - a luxurious balancing face oil that leaves your skin feeling hydrated, restored and plumped. Today we're lucky enough to be featuring Jane Scrivner's hero product: The Nourishing Cleanser. I've waited quite a while to write this review on purpose - I really wanted to get the most of this cleanser. All I can say is that if I could, I would have a lifetime supply of this and never ever look back.

The product is a luxurious and thick balm cleanser that mixed with a bit of warm water turns into this almost creamy and ever-so soft cleansing milk. I use Jane Scrivner's Nourishing Cleanser every other day; whenever I want to treat my skin or when it's feeling a bit temperamental. This unique balm is Jojoba Oil and Beeswax based blended with 9 skin loving essential oils. Jane Scrivner's Nourishing Balm comes with a Fluffy Mitt that I wet with warm water and I gently rub on my skin to remove the cleanser and any make-up residue. The Fluffy Mitt is soft and it's easily washed in warm water with the rest of your laundry, or in my case, with the rest of my flannels.

The only things that I dislike about this balm (if 'dislike' is the best word to use... it may exaggerate what I want to say), is that I find that the balm doesn't have enough slip on the skin; that is why I need to add just teeny bit more of water. Overall, Jane Scrivner's Nourishing Cleanser has become a staple in my skincare routine - whenever I use it my skin feels soft, deeply cleansed and hydrated. This balm cleanser is a definite winner for me and for The Amazing Blog.

For a full list of stockists please visit Jane Scrivner's website. The Nourishing Balm retails at £45... and as Jane herself says "It's not just a cleanser, it's beautiful skin in a jar". Worth every single penny for sure.
