Did you know that when water is added to skincare products, emulsifiers are required so that the water can thoroughly mix with the rest of the product. However, emulsifiers promote the growth of bacteria, so preservatives are necessary to limit their growth. These preservative can cause skin irritation, disrupt the skin's barrier, and even accelerate ageing.
