It's always fun to mix up your makeup look and here at The Amazing Blog, we love to find new make up products to use, so when Urban Decay's newest launch arrived in our office we were thrilled to test it out.

Mascara is definitely an essential to a makeup look and lashes are made to be noticed, so we can all flicker our eyes! The Urban Decay mascara perversion has a large wand so you can lengthen the lashes, creating volume and glamour. This black mascara will have you addicted to its high tech brush that separates your lashes whilst giving you the control to build up coats for a super black wide-eyed effect. The mascara has an ultra-creamy formula, so it glides effortlessly through, leaving clump free lashes and the highly pigmented shade is perfect to finish a dramatic smokey eyed look.

Gwen Stefani Brow Box – Urban Decay

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re a little bit in love with Gwen Stefani’s fierce brows. Now you can get the same effect with the brow kit she curated—the Gwen Stefani Brow Box by Urban Decay! We were lucky enough to receive a sample to test out for you because we know how hard it can be to find brow products with the perfect shade and consistency.

First off, can we just talk about how beautiful the packaging is? The kit itself is housed in a metallic striped black and gold box with a pink and white polka-dot interior. The lid of the compact has metallic gold circles recessed behind a white panel and opens up into two separate layers. The upper layer houses two shades of brow powders that are the perfect ash-y tone for blondes and light brunettes. It also includes a clear wax to set your brows. The lower tier contains slots for two mini angled brow brushes and a mini gold tweezer (mini things are always the cutest). The compact also has two mirrors, and one is a magnifying mirror perfect for plucking last minute stray hairs.

Friday Favourites - Lipsticks

Lips are such a prominent feature on the face, here at the Amazing Blog we love ours to stand out and ooze confidence. We have chosen a few of our favourite lip products to perfect that pout.

Now if you are more of a matte finish girl, Urban Decay’s new Matte Revolution Lipsticks will be your new best friend. We had the opportunity to try colours Tilt, Bad Blood and After Dark, each colour was extremely pigmented and super creamy. Once you’ve finished admiring the gorgeous colour in the mirror, you’ll notice that even as they dry to a matte finish your lips still retain their moisture. We made the mistake of leaving swatches to dry on our hands, and soon found out that it has some serious staying power!

From the colours we tried, there is one to fit everyone, Tilt is an extremely bright orange-toned red, while Bad Blood is an intense, blue-toned red. For those who are more adventurous, After Dark is a gorgeous deep plum with purple reflects which give it a beautiful sheen in the light. Urban Decay - Naked Smoky Palette

Here at The Amazing Blog, we often find ourselves drooling over the latest cult make-up releases. Ever a fan of Urban Decay’s Naked offerings, we were overjoyed when their latest creation, the Naked Smoky Palette landed on our desks. Every bit as dreamy as its trio of predecessors, we had trouble tearing ourselves away from dabbling to get a days work done!

With 12 gorgeous shades to choose from, the palette contains everything you need to perfect a smoky eye. With some of us here in the office being a bit of a novice when it comes to shadows, the inclusion of a ‘cheat sheet’ was a welcome addition. Our favourite look was Smoky Cat, which combines some fabulous bronze shadows, perfect for a winter warmer look. We had so much fun experimenting with the fabulous mixture of shimmers and mattes. The double ended brush was a must have for applying, With a fluffy blending brush on one end, and a denser smudger brush, it’s all you need to create your cat eyes for a night on the town. Beautifully blendable and wonderfully long-wearing, it’s safe to say we’ve found our favorite winter palette to take us through to Christmas and bring us into the New Year.
