Depixym - Cosmetic Emulsions Colours

Fancy playing around with some colours? But don’t have enough time to pick up a paintbrush and create a magical masterpiece? The Amazing Blog is here to introduce a new make-up concept that will allow you to explore your artistic side while creating looks that will leave you looking your brightest, best and gleeful self. Meet Depixym with their ‘Cosmetic Emulsion’ which is probably going to become the most versatile make-up product that you’ve ever used! The brand is here to give you the creative freedom to put some fun back into your make up look.

Depixym is the new generation of makeup that’s ready to rattle the cages of the cosmetic establishment. Mix and match away with their 19 different colours  (plus the addition of a gloss); think vibrant colours, bright yellow, an energising orange or a subtle pink with a woody brown. We know what you’re going to ask; how exactly do you use these colours? Well, that’s the point, it’s however you’d like! The brand breaks away from the restrictions of traditional make-up where an eyebrow pencil cannot be used as lipstick and eyeliner can’t possibly be used as a blush. Depixym’s products can be mixed together and used anywhere on the face or body; it’s so easy and just as you would mix your acrylics or oil paints to achieve the right hue when painting. All these 19 emulsions can be used as eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, eyebrow fillers etc. There are absolutely no limitations on where and how the product can be used, as long as you don’t eat it or stick it in your beautiful eyes.

The founders of this new and exciting brand believe that each individual is different; as to how can one product and one shade suit each and every one of us? They want us to break away from this world of labels. We love how they allow us to experiment and create their own looks and colours based on their personal desires and tastes. They want people to mix it all up and bring out their funky inner sides in a world that’s constantly telling you what’s acceptable. Depixym is based on breaking free from the shackles of society and embracing your true self in whatever shape, form or colour!

The product comes with a small metal palette (be careful it’s a little sharp on the edges) and a mixing wand, all for you to mix your colours in. We tried out the #1059 and #1183 to create our own shades. Each of us ended up with a completely different look; we mainly experimented with it as a lipstick taking us from vivid peach to a nude peachy brown. Best of all is its staying power, but don’t get it on your clothes – one of us did and couldn’t wash it out of their jeans! Hop over to their website to discover your hidden artist.  All their Cosmetic Emulsions colours are priced at £18.

You Create Beauty - DIY Beauty Recipe Box

With DIY skincare and beauty subscription boxes becoming increasingly popular, it’s not a surprise that The Amazing Blog has joined the craze and indulged in this trend by trying You-create-Beauty’s double treat - the DIY Beauty Recipe Box.

Launched in September of last year, the DIY Beauty Recipe Box is completely organic and is entirely curated for you, by you. The simple and transparent nature of the brand, is inspired by Ayurveda; which is an ancient Indian practise, that emphasises harmony and balance in all aspects of your life - including beauty - to treat your skin holistically. In true Ayurveda nature, the first step to create your own DIY Beauty Recipe Box is to take an energy test which describes your body, skin, temperament and hair type. From that, you are able to gauge which energy or “Dosha” you are, so your beauty recipes are specific to you.

Then, you select two beauty recipes from three choices of a face scrub, face mist and face oil to have in your box. Each energy- Kapha, Pitta, Vata - each is designated a My Blemish Resolution, My Calmness and My Iridescence but the ingredients used in them are selected specifically for each different energy. Ancient Indian oils, herbs and spices are used in all of You-Create-Beauty’s products such as Saffron Strands, Triphala, Organic Ground Tulsi, Vetiver and Organic Ground Bitter Melon. Other staple ingredients like Natural Vitamin E Oil, Red Rose Petals and even apricot to name a few, are incorporated into the recipes as well. If you’re not sure what some of the ingredients are, You-create-Beauty emphasises transparency by disclosing what the ingredients are and how they extracted them on their website. So, as you follow the recipes in your beauty recipe box, you can rest assured that you will know you are creating products that you can trust. To try this new holistic and creative way of skincare, subscribe to a two-month box for £20 here.

Inspired: London, A Guide to Handmade in London

After the increasing popularity of handmade products and DIYs, it seems that customers are now, more than ever, interested in designers and online shopping. With every purchase, they look for a "shopping experience". Inspired: London, a Guide to Handmade in London allows customers to meet designers, closing the gap between the producer and the buyer. The guide was created by Mary McDermott, owner of We Make London, a series of regular craft events across the city, after she spotted a rise in the interest in handmade products in the UK. From clothing to art, and detailed information about their creators, this guide helps you getting in touch with people that hand make products in London. The book aims to support local businesses and includes a useful directory of almost 100 organisations, suppliers, independent shops and designer-maker markets. We have absolutely loved the book - we've found super inspiring and we literally couldn't put it down. And the fact that it features products to suit every budget is a definite plus.

Inspired: London, a Guide to Handmade in London is available to buy online for £12.00 via the We Make London Website and in selected bookshops.
