Like most girls out there I seem to think it is impossible to have too many lipsticks, it’s all about the thrill of finding the new ‘perfect’ shade. However amongst all the feel-good endorphins that come with being a good little cog in a consumer driven machine (I know, cynical much?), there is always a slight guilt...I mean how many of us actually NEED another beauty product? So imagine my delight when I discovered makeup artist Karen Alder’s new lipstick for The Prince’s Trust. Not only is the lipstick a bold red colour - amazing for creating a statement lip - purchasing it is also completely guilt free because 100% of the proceeds go to The Prince’s Trust charity. The Prince’s Trust was established in 1976 as a way to give financial and practical support to young people facing unemployment in the UK. The lipstick is Karen way of giving back to the charity which supported her start in the beauty industry when they provided her with a business mentor and a loan.
The project is supported by a number of celebrities (including Holly Valance, Pixie Lott, Kylie and Danni Minogue and Henry Holland to name a few) and businesses aiming to raise maximum awareness to raise funds for The Trust.
The Trust lipstick is available exclusively through QVC and can be bought online from their website here for £8.00.
