Soft Sage - Doughballs

Here at The Amazing Blog we know everyone loves nibbles and do you know what everyone loves even more? Doughballs and cheese, mustn't forget the cheese! We've all been in the situation when there is one left on the plate and everyone wants it. Now, imagine that pressure and awkwardness times 10 because these dough balls are extra special AND we have a packed office... Oh my goodness we were just in heaven withSoft Sage‘s beautifully delicious gluten free dough balls and unlike others, these contain no added sugar, yeast, wheat corn, codex wheat starch or xanthan gum.

We were really impressed with the entire operation that Soft Sage is running. Not only are they able to get frozen products which then need to be baked safely through the post, they also offered to come cook them for us. Luckily for us we can operate an oven with some flair, so we declined this gracious offer. Hot out of the oven, these little balls of gluten free dough (VIP to mention!) and potato are just divine. We tried the Tomato, Basil & Cheese, Original Cheese, Garlic & Cheese, and Rosemary & Cheese flavours which were all delicious and perfectly sized for normal snacking or party hors d'oeuvres. We particularly liked the Rosemary & Cheese doughballs, as the infusion of the two flavours worked so well together and they were definitely the most popular here in the office. They are fast, tasty and easy to cook and you can serve these little bites of heaven in the happy knowledge that they’re free from preservatives, flavourings and gluten. We highly recommend getting a stash of theses and keeping them in your freezer for when you have some unexpected guests - they'll soon be inviting themselves back for more!

Soft SageDoughballs are available here for £3.50 for a pack of 10.

Terrafertil Goldenberries

Goldenberries blog With the spring right around the corner, it's that time again where we try to work out a tad bit more than normal and eat a tad healthier…well at least the girls in the office are. At The Amazing Blog we have found a delicious berry snack that provides you with a satisfaction of feeling good, while eating them. The superfruit Terrafertil dried Goldenberries  (or as we call them in the UK Cape Gooseberries) is the perfect snack to crave.

The dried Goldenberries really are a “little nuggets of nutritional gold”. Goldenberries soar right past cranberries by providing you 166% more antioxidants. These little nuggets contain a rich source of vitamin C, iron, magnesium, potassium, fiber, and phosphorus. While eating Goldenberries I enjoy the taste of them and feel good about eating them (not that guilty feeling I have after eating chocolate covered raisins). The Goldenberries have a sweet and sour taste at first, but as I kept popping them into my mouth it started to balance the two tastes together. With these dried Goldenberries grown and processed in Ecuador and Colombia on Terrafertil Goldenberries Fairtrade farmland selected for soil and air quality, it ensures the highest standard of fruits. Organically produced and distributed, the UK is finally getting the gift of Terrafertil Goldenberries.

You can snack without feeling guilty with Terrafertil Goldenberries. For only £2.99 a bag, you can feel good about the way you snack! To purchase these little nuggets of nutritional gold you can go to Holland & Barrett. Snack the right way with Goldenberries to feel full of nutrients!

British Biscuit Festival

While most of us don't like to admit it, we all indulge in a biscuit (or five) every once in a while. Whether it's with a nice cuppa or as a sweet snack between salads, nothing compares to a biscuit - chocolate, jam-filled, sugar coated or otherwise. So what better way to show your love and appreciation of this classic treat than at the British Biscuit Festival this weekend.

Some of the features of the first ever Biscuit Festival include the Build-a-Biscuit workshop, the Biscuit Tin Tournament, the Tea and Biscuit Social, the Tea Dance, and possibly the most interesting part of the festival Bisc-ART.  At these events you and your friends will be able to hobnob (I couldn't resist) with other biscuit admirers, make your very own biscuit, or even get creative and make a biscuit masterpiece - if you can resist eating it before you finish! All these events are open for the public, with completely free entry, so you have no excuse not to head over and have a bit of biscuit inspired fun.

The Biscuit Festival is a great day out for the entire family too, with fun events like Guerilla Science that explore different aspects of biscuits, biscuit making and biscuit dunking experiments. Often times I've wondered if there was a a perfect way to dunk a biscuit before it's lost to the depths of my tea - maybe this weekend they'll find out! I'm also pretty sure that kids love biscuits, I'll have to check on it though.

As anyone will tell you, I am definitely not a festival girl, but just this once I think I can make an exception. Head over to the Brunswick Shopping Centre this weekend (8th - 10th) for the British Biscuit Festival!

Sweetcorn Bites

Here at Amazing PR we are constantly on the lookout for tasty, healthy snacks that aren’t going to leave us feeling guilty nor fill us up too much between meals and this week we have been curbing our hunger pangs thanks to Sweetcorn Bites.

Sweetcorn Bites are not only a healthy, tasty and extremely convenient snack, they are made from 100% natural and fresh sweetcorn harvested straight from the farm with no artificial ingredients or GMO’s. Perfect as a quick fix snack or last minute vegetable side-dish when in need, each pack contains eight bitesize cobettes which can be easily cooked in the microwave, steamed, boiled or wrapped in foil and put on the barbeque. Naturally high in vitamins, fibre, protein and folic acid, sweetcorn is a great healthy snack and generally considered sweet enough to be loved by kids as well as adults. Our preferred way of enjoying sweetcorn is usually laden with melted butter however these bites are sweet and crunchy enough that they are just as tasty on their own.

As an added incentive, Sweetcorn Bites are harvested from Barfoots Farm in West Sussex who practice sustainable farming and reuse, recycle and reduce waste wherever possible. All their vegetables have the LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) logo and they support ethical trading initiatives across their global farming network to ensure workers are given fair pay and get good healthcare and schooling. They have also started generating biogas from their sweetcorn waste products which is converted into renewabale heat and power as well as irrigable water and natural fertiliser…talk about green energy!

Sweetcorn Bites are available from Waitrose and Ocado.
