Newby Teas - Masala Chai Black Tea

There's something quite therapeutic about sitting down with a warm cup of tea at the end of a long work day. Here at The Amazing Blog we take our tea time seriously, so we expect only the best from our favourite hot beverage. After trying the Masala Chai Tea from Newby Teas, we knew we’d found our new evening favourite, savouring every cup we pour.

The award-winning tea blend is influenced by traditional Indian culture, staying true to its roots with only natural ingredients. The chai blend contains the finest whole leaf Assam Black Tea, and when combined with cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper and ginger, it becomes a true artisan beverage. For an extra indulgence, we added a slice or two of orange, a cinnamon stick and a drop of honey. As well as looking extremely aesthetically pleasing, it added an extra dimension to the delicious tea. The enticing aroma alone will have you craving another cup before you've finished the first.

Contigo - Travel Mugs

laras tuesday

Given that we live in a time where everything is fast and on-the-go, even the most practical items were bound to jump on board. Currently, you may not pay much attention to your coffee mug, but we at The Amazing Blog have found a company that makes simple yet elegant hassle-free mugs to keep your drinks hot or cold during the busiest days.  Contigo has taken the art of mug making and has formed it into a business, a business that is steadily booming here in the UK as well as other countries around the world. Contigo offers a wide array of products ranging from travel mugs, water bottles, kids cups and coffee mugs. We were lucky enough to try two of their travel mugs, the Morgan and their best-seller West Loop, both of which were a big-hit here in the office.

The Morgan AUTOSEAL Thermo Cup is stylish and easyt to carry throughout your busy day. The cup is made of soft-touch plastic and comes in four bright colours. Their design was praised by Red Dot, especially the AUTOSEAL feature that allows you to open the mug with the press of a button and seals upon release, making it 100% spill proof. I have been using this mug and have no problem with leaks considering I just throw it into my handbag on the way to work. I also enjoy the reservoir feature that keeps some of your drink a bit cooler for your next sip, eliminating those ever annoying scalds of the tongue. Though it helps protect you from burning your mouth, this cup keeps drinks hot for an hour and drinks cold for up to four.

If you are a bit more adventurous and need more from your thermo cup, you may need to try the West Loop. West Loop is a Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Mug which also features the AUTOSEAL making it 100% spill proof. The double insulated walls will keep your drinks hot for up to 4 hours or cold for up to 12, making it ideal for those long business trips or weekend hikes. West Loop comes available in 9 colours and is top-rack dishwasher safe (just like the Morgan), making the clean up as easy as the sip.

To get your hands on these lovely, hassle-free mugs visit the Contigo online shop here!  Next time you are trying to enjoy your drink while lugging your groceries, handbag, your child or all three at once, know that your drink is safe in your hands and only a press of a button away.

Join the Equinox Kombucha Revolution

Kombucha blog image As you already know, we in The Amazing Blog office are avid tea lovers, but when we were asked if we had ever tried ‘living teas’ before, we had to say we hadn’t, and so we were very interested to find out more about them.

Living tea contains live yeast and bacteria within the drink that are vital and essential to a healthy digestive system. The bacteria that lives within the fermented tea is quite similar to that in a pro-biotic supplement or pro-biotic yogurt. It is friendly bacteria, and helps your digestive system function as well as it possibly can. People have believed in the power of Kombucha living tea for thousands of years, particularly in Asia. Equinox Kombucha is a company y out of Yorkshire that has created a range of living teas inspired by the four elements, Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. We were so excited to try these new, healthy beverages when they arrived at The Amazing Blog, and let’s just say that they were nothing short of delicious.

Equinox Kombucha was born out of a love for the drink that was discovered when the creators were travelling in Southeast Asia. They came back home only to realise that they dearly missed the Kombucha drink, and so they began to brew it themselves. The teas are all organic, brewed with Fair trade Chun Me green tea, Raw Cane Sugar (Rainforest Alliance Certifed), as well as other herbal teas and Ginger juice.  We were very lucky to be sent all four flavours of the tea to try out, which are all unique and wonderful. Representing the element of Earth is the Original Kombucha, which is sweet and sour, and will keep you grounded. Raspberry and Elderflower represents Water, and is a lovely, crisp and fruity combination. Wild Berry flavour becomes Air; it is very ‘awakening’ and even children will love the sweet taste. Fire is perfectly represented by a Ginger flavour, which is exotic and full bodied.

If you are interested in joining the Kombucha Revolution and leading an overall healthier lifestyle, you can buy the drinks on the Equinox Kombucha website. Retailing at £1.60 each or £5.99 for a set; there is even a set of 20 bottles for the Kombucha enthusiast! They are also sold at a large variety of natural foods stores all listed on the website. Best part of all is that Equinox Kombucha gives a percentage of all profits to the development of humanitarian and conservation projects. Now go on and join the Kombucha Revolution!

New Zealand & Co. - Manuka Honey & Root Ginger

blog After having the sniffles all of last week,  you know the feeling, all bunged up but not quite at the tissue stage. I decided to dose myself up with something healthy to help suppress any of my hideous cold symptoms and to stop annoying the girls surrounding me at the office. At The Amazing Blog, regular readers will know that we love to try out natural honeys, and  New Zealand and Co. Manuka Honey with Root Ginger  is what we had to hand. Yes, to my amazement with a daily spoonful over the last week, it seems to have done the trick (although not sure I can completely say it was the honey alone!)

Manuka honey is said to be the best in the world and with the addition of root ginger how can you go wrong? New Zealand bees produce Manuka Honey by collecting nectar from the flowers of their native Manuka tree. With the addition of root ginger, it gives the Manuka Honey a tangy and slightly spicy taste. This honey is great to get over a developing cold and helps support your immune system. With New Zealand and Co. 100% Natural Manuka Honey and fresh root ginger, it is great to add it to your morning tea or use it as a marinade. New Zealand and Co. honeys are all natural and their products have no artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives.

With the addition of New Zealand and Co. Manuka Honey and Root Ginger I feel good about drinking my tea and the taste keeps me on my toes. It’s a great way to start my day on a healthy note. You can purchase New Zealand and Co. Manuka Honey and Root Ginger for £10.35 online or in your local Holland and Barrett.
