Black Chicken Body Oil

NEW blog imageThe Amazing Blog girls are always experimenting with different oils to see which are best for our skin. Adding oil into your daily regime can really help to hydrate and moisturise your face and body, even if you have naturally oily skin it’s important to get a good balance. The Black Chicken Body Oilis an efficient little product filled with a combination of skin boosting ingredients such as Avocado Oil and Ylang Ylang. This oil has been working wonders, it is especially beneficial at this time of the year as such cold weather can have detrimental effects on our skin.  We haven’t quite acclimatised yet so are experiencing some dry and cracked skin. The smell doesn’t make it favourable to a particular sex so it’s the perfect oil to have in the bathroom for both him and her to use after a shower. The avocado oil targets dry patches to encourage moisture to build up and relieve any skin causing discomfort.  The Rosehip Oil helps tissue regeneration so if you have recently suffered from a burn, scar or stretch marks then it’s just the thing to help tone and tighten that skin so it starts to revert back to its normal self. I recently moved from Somerset to London and found the harsh water difference really dried out my skin, but oil is the perfect remedy to soften it again.

This award-winning oil is a great buy if you’re looking to treat yourself and give your body a little extra TLC. You can apply Black Chicken Oil daily and the good thing about oil is that it tends to go a long way so the bottle will last you. Black Chicken is an ancient crone and it is said that she was admired for her healing powers. People would visit her for centuries, telling her their problems and pains and then she would bring them peace and comfort if they had good hearts. These stories and concepts of Black Chicken all link to health and healing which is where the brand name was derived as the same intentions are entwined. It’s an all round product which helps to calm different issues using essential oils.

The oil is stocked in two places in the UK, you can find it here and here. Although it’s £45 for 100ml, it will stay with you for a long time and work well as a moisturiser too.

Sobe Rice Bran and Mandarin Body Moisturising Pure Oil

sobepure BLOG imageDespite a lot of attention over the last few years, oils are by no means a new product in the beauty industry. In fact, they’ve been around for centuries and there are hundreds of varieties to meet every skin and haircare need. But lately more people are returning to the traditional beauty ingredients and using oils in their skincare routine. With essential oils having such great benefits for the skin and body, we at The Amazing Blog,  are always on the lookout for any fantastic products that contain essential oils. So in our plight to find the perfect beauty oils, we have been testing out Sobe Pure Oil. Sobe is a new beauty project by You Can Group, inspired by oriental philosophy, working with food elements from the deep-rooted Japanese tradition. They believe in the concept of food nourishing both your body and skin and therefore created a series of natural cosmetics made from effective recipes of essential oils and natural ingredients.

We had the pleasure to try out their Rice Bran and Mandarin Body Moisturising Pure Oil, an oil packed with antioxidants with hydrating and smoothing properties. The rice bran is thought to have firming, protective and nourishing qualities with the Mandarin having a stimulating and draining effect which can help with water retention and prevent cellulite. This means the oil tackles signs of skin ageing and gives your skin a new shine.

It comes in stylish frosted glass bottle with a pipette in the lid for easy use. A few drops on the skin is all that’s needed for you to feel the effects once it’s been rubbed in. With it being an oil, you may think that it would be very greasy but it’s not at all. It absorbs into the skin leaving it soft and silky. The smell is absolutely gorgeous, fresh and very luxurious, like you have just had a spa treatment. I absolutely love this oil, never have I thought to use pure oil on my body, but I have been converted thanks to the fantastic results. I think it’s an all year round product, but particularly in the oncoming Winter months, when the skin is drier and may need a quick pick me up.

Sobe Pure Oils and other cosmetic products are available to purchase from their website, with the Rice Bran and Mandarin Body Moisturising Pure Oil retailing at €29.50 for a 15ml bottle.

Bodhi - Flora Paradiso De-Stress Massage & Body Oil

Oil FrameAs everyone will know by now, one beauty product that I can't live without is body moisturiser; I need to feel my skin properly nourished 24/7. My skin is naturally quite dry, and these sudden temperature changes (ehem… anyone said Summer?) are making my skin feel dehydrated and quite tight. That is why I have put my tubs of body moisturiser and butters aside, and have gone for something richer and more concentrated to treat my thirsty skin. Their Flora Paradiso De-Stress Massage and Body Oil is a beautiful blend of sumptuous Ylang Ylang, High-Altitude Lavender and grounding Atlas Cedarwood. This oil is designed to help alleviating physical and mental stresses, having ancient massage rituals from the Balinese and Indonesia in mind. The great thing about Bodhi’s Flora Paradiso Oil is that its nourishing effect is super long-lasting; even if I apply in the evening, I can still feel my skin supple and deeply hydrated the morning after. Another good aspect of this oil is that is fast-absorbed by the skin and does not leave, to our surprise, that uncomfortable greasy residue on the skin. And its scent… is stunning: very relaxing and calming too.

As our fellow readers of The Amazing Blog will know by now, the girls and myself love the brand Bodhi. We have been lucky enough to try almost all of their products, and Elijah Choo’s (founder of Bodhi and the man behind the brand's beautiful blends) exquisite formulas have never let us down. Bodhi’s Flora Paradiso De-Stress Massage and Body Oil ticks all the boxes of what I look in a nourishing body product. Elijah, you never let us down.

Bodhi’s Flora Paradiso De-Stress massage and Body Oil can be purchased from their website and retails at £38.

Jardins D'EDEN - Indulge Body & Massage Oil

blog templateThe girls at The Amazing Blog know that I'm a big fan of a good body moisturiser - I go through tubs and bottles of it very easily. If there's something I cannot miss doing every morning and evening, is applying a good layer of body moisturiser or body oil. I describe myself as a true body moisturiser addict. When we were given the chance to try Jardins D'EDEN Indulge Body & Massage Oil, everyone at in the office knew that I had to be the one to give this treat a go. Jardins D'EDEN is a lovely brand directed by three sisters that after following diverse paths in life, decided to renew the family tradition trying to keep their father's dream alive, a highly-regarded maitre savonneur who started the family tradition of all-natural, olive oil based products in 1967.

The Indulge Body & Massage Oil is the perfect perfect to add to any pampering session after a stressful day... although any excuse is good to use this gem. After using a thick salt scrub, I apply the thinest layer of this beautiful oil on my damp skin to guarantee a maximum hydration. Jardins D'EDEN  Indulge Body & Massage Oil is easily absorbed and it's a stunning blend of regenerating Rose, stimulating Geranium, sebum balancing Palma Rosa, decongesting Petitgrain and soothing Lavender essential oils - the Indulge Body Oil leaves delicate floral scent on the skin. It is ideal to use on dry skin types or on dehydrated conditions and after sun exposure.

Jardins D'EDEN has impressed me very much. I've been eyeing their website to buy some things myself, as my experience with their Bath & Body Oil has been superior. Their Bath & Body Oils retail at £25 and can be purchased from their website, Harrods and from Whole Foods from June on.
