Feel Free Foods - Breaded Hake and Gluten Free Foods

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love our food, but we know it’s sometimes tricky to rustle up something easy, tasty and healthy, especially if you suffer from allergies or intolerances. Thanks to Feel Free Foods, it's about to get a lot easier. The gluten free company have added some great new breaded fish dishes to their frozen products, so that you can make a nutritious meal with ease at the end of a long day.

Diagnosed a coeliac, Sally Allister started the company back in 2004 after recognising a need for healthy, high quality, gluten free products which are tasty enough to be enjoyed by the whole family. Her latest breaded fish range is made from 100% fish fillet and covered in a crunchy maize coating. The mouthwatering Breaded Cod and Hake Fillets are each available in packs of two, ready to be baked for a quick and healthy dinner. We were lucky enough to try the delicious Breaded Hake Fillets and it's safe to say we’re hooked (excuse the pun).  The fillet was firm, tender and had a delectably crunchy coating.  What’s more, the hake is sustainable, so that guilt free feeling goes a little bit further!  If you have little mouths to feed, the brand also make Breaded Fish Nuggets, as well as a huge range of pastas, sweet treats, and quick, easy meals.

You can buy your own tasty hake here. They retail for the very reasonable price of £3.99 and are worth every penny! If fish isn't your dish, then fear not, as the company offer a wide range of other gluten free products, and have a selection of recipes for you to experiment with.

Aviela - African Black Soap and Body Scrub

Having heard nothing but great things about Aviela products we were delighted to receive the African black soap and Body scrub here at the Amazing Blog offices.

The Aviela brand was founded by Patricia Mooney in 2007, after she saw the extraordinary way shea butter helped heal her daughter’s ankle. At almost 2 years old Patricia’s daughter was unable to walk, and was told she may need surgery on her left ankle. However, before the surgery went ahead a bone specialist advised her to rub Shea Butter into her daughter’s ankle twice daily to see if it could soften the cartilage - within four days Patricia’s daughter was up walking! Ever since this miracle Patricia has been creating amazing products using Shea Butter.

The Aviela soap is an all-natural, fragrance free soap, ideal for sensitive skin, with calming and soothing properties for irritated skin. It extracts impurities and excess oils, whilst still leaving your body feeling moisturised and soft. The Shea Body Scrub exfoliates away dead skin sells leaving you with revived and refreshed skin which feels silky smooth. The Shea Butter contained within the scrub is premium quality so it can treat a number of skin conditions, unlike many other products which claim to use the same ingredient.

If you’re not convinced of the shea butter medicinal properties, try it out for yourself here on the Aveila website. The soap is only £5.20 and the Body Scrub is £13.13, a bargain for miracle products!

Oppo Ice Cream

The Amazing Blog team will never turn down a sweet treat, especially frozen ones as the weather gets warmer here in Chelsea. Too many artificial sweeteners can weigh us down, so when want something a bit more natural we reach for Oppo ice cream as a healthier alternative with the same great taste.

Oppo began when brothers Charlie and Harry Thuillier decided to travel 1000km along the Northeast coast of Brazil via kite buggies powered by the wind. When they started running out of food, they started eating local coconuts that gave them hydration and healthy fats and protein. With their new passion for natural ingredients, they returned home and thought about how coconut milk could replace unhealthy fats in traditional desserts, like ice cream.

After some research and failed first attempts, Oppo has grown into the company it is today. There are three ice cream flavours – Madagascar Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Mint Chocolate Swirl – in the collection, and each one is made with a superfood ingredient for added benefits. All of the flavours are sweetened with the natural, zero-calorie stevia leaf instead of sugar and cream and virgin coconut oil. These are ice creams you can feel great about indulging in.

Oppo ice creams are sold at participating Waitrose stores, so check their stockist list to see if your nearest Waitrose sells Oppo.

Mokhado Oils - Starter Pack

Our team here at The Amazing Blog is passionate about healthy eating and cooking our own meals. We recently found out about Mokhado cooking oils from South Africa, and suddenly our cooking experience has transformed for the better.

The range of oils includes three different varieties – Apricot, Avocado and Macadamia – which each contain their own unique flavour and taste. All three oils are cold-pressed, extra virgin, pure, heart-healthy and suitable for vegans. With monounsaturated fats and natural vitamins, they provide your body with healthy fats and antioxidants. The bottles are even coloured-coded and feature a simple and beautiful design.

The founder of the oils, Chrisjan Van den Berg, is proud to showcase the oils his family has known and loved for years. All of the ingredients used to make the oils are never wasted either, since the remaining pits are used as animal feed or compost.

We loved adding the oils to vegetable stir-fry and when baking meat and fish. The macadamia oil, in particular, tasted wonderful when added to something as simple as plain rice. It was so easy to enjoy the oils when we remembered how healthy they are, in addition to their flavourful taste. If you're feeling a little more adventurous, then Mokhado have a range of delicious recipe ideas to choose from, including a fantastic guacamole.

To try the full range of Mokhado oils, head here and get your own set of three for £20. You can also purchase individual bottles of whichever oil you choose for £6.99 each.
