Refresh Your locks with Ambiance Dry Shampoo

Ambiance dry Shampoo blog image

We all have those days. The days where you miss the alarm just by enough to not have time to wash your hair before work. Or even the days where you need to wash your hair, but just don’t want to. We’ve all been there, and will continue to be. Thankfully enough, there are products invented just to suit our problem! Dry shampoo is one of those products that we consider a must have here at The Amazing Blog, and we know you probably do too. We all know of the oldie-but-goodie baby powder remedy for greasy scalp, but that can often leave a white chalky mess, and so the aerosol method tends to be our most loved. We heard about a product called Ambiance Dry Shampoo that is going back to the powder formula, but in an all-new way.

The Ambiance Dry Shampoo is designed as a kabuki brush style applicator with the pigmented dry shampoo product in the bottom, so when you turn it upside-down, the product comes out. It was designed this way for ‘maximum cleansing, root concealing, and thinning spot coverage’. The pigmented nature of the product means that it is perfect for those of us with darker hair, who don’t want a white powder or spray showing on our locks and giving away our hair secrets. This also means that it is wonderful for people who do have spot thinning or want to temporarily cover up roots. The leaflet in the box advises you to tilt the brush at a slight angle onto the area of scalp that needs coverage and carefully apply and buff the product in a circular motion. You will want to section the hair as well, that way you know exactly where the product is going. We did find upon application that you may need to re-apply a few times to get maximum results.  You will also want to apply this product before you get dressed, as some fallout can occur, and the product is pigmented like an eye shadow. The product is also 100% natural, so no nasties in the formula.

The Ambiance Dry Shampoo is available in five colour formulas: Blonde, Brunette, Red, Black, and Grey. The dry shampoo retails at £26.98 from Eterno Naturals, and does come with a free refill for your brush.

Try Out a New Shampoo Formula with Amazonian Ritual Powder Shampoo

Amazonian Ritual Powder It should come as no secret if you read our blog that we absolutely love hair products here at The Amazing Blog. Seriously, we love them like fish love water; unconditionally. We boast quite a few different hair types here, from dry to greasy, fine to thick, so each one of us certainly has our favourite products on the list. When we heard about a product called Amazonian Ritual Powder Shampoo, we were all very excited to try it as we had not used a powder shampoo before.

This is not to be confused with dry shampoo, as this does require the touch of water for it to work. It is 100% natural powder (no nasties e.g. parabens, sodium-lauryl-sulfate) and preservative free Brazilian powder shampoo.

It is no different than using a liquid shampoo, as you just wet your hair thoroughly and then pour some powder on the palm of your hand and massage it onto your hair. Even though it doesn’t contain SLS, it lathers up rather nice and has a very pleasant zesty smell to it, probably because it contains Vitamin C rich antioxidant fruits, Acerola and Camu Camu. We realized that not only did it keep our hair clean for longer than a day; it also gave our hair noticeably more volume. Fabulous!

Another wonderful thing about the powder texture of the shampoo is that it is much more travel friendly than a bursting bottle of liquid! Intrigued to try? You can get your Powder Shampoo fix via Your Tonic for £17.49.

Gavin Taylor Hair - Shampoo & Conditioner

blog There is nothing worse than those synthetic shampoos and conditioners that rid your hair of natural oils and leave your locks feeling dry and coarse. That’s why we here at The Amazing Blog love natural and chemical-free hair products. So when we received samples of Gavin Taylor Hair shampoo and conditioner, we knew we would be quite interested in what they had to offer. Although the samples only gave me enough product for a weekend getaway.

Gavin Taylor sent us both the Lavender & Geranium and Camomile & Lemon Shampoo as well as the Frankincense & Sage Conditioner  - all of which are designed for naturally fine or oily hair. The Camomile & Lemon Shampoo was my favourite: combining English Camomile and Sicilian Lemon in perfect harmony. I found this remedy to rejuvenate both the balance and shine to my dull, product laden hair. And similarly, the sage in the conditioner naturally energizes dull, limp (and in my case: over worked) hair. The scent of each product was delightful and refreshing. All Gavin Taylor products are natural - free from parabens and synthetic foaming agents (SLS). Instead, their shampoo range contains Oxygenated Aloe Vera wheat proteins that gently moisturise your hair by locking in natural proteins and protecting it from external damage. While I only was only able to squeeze out a few trials, I can confirm all these attributes.

The natural elements, cosmetic benefits, and refreshing scents of these Gavin Taylor Shampoos and Conditioners are quite enticing. This brand has created a wonderful product that surely won't damage your hair or the environment. At £14 per a bottle, the price is a bit steep but well worth it. This is definitely a product I will purchase, and you can too on their website. Recommended.

biOrganics' Hair Therapy - Salon Secret Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil

blogIf there is anyone I trust to revive my hair back to being shiny and healthy tresses (that we all love), yes  it's that celebrity hairdresser. So when we at The Amazing Blog received biOrganics’s Salon Secret Exlicir Hair Perfecting Oil endorsed by Tim Scott Wright we were certainly interested to try it out for ourselves.

My colleague Lara has naturally dark, thick and dry hair, which she recently dip-dyed, so she was the ideal candidate to give this much- hyped product a try. The Salon Secret Elixir works to tame and nourish dull locks back into shiny and healthy waves. Lara applied the oil to her damp hair after brushing it and got great results - it smoothed her hair and gave her a good sheen. Oh and a single application also goes a very long way. We also liked the fact that this product is small and useful enough to carry around in your bag for a quick spritz.  It's made of  Organic Ylang Ylang and Argan Oil, and what Lara most liked is that the formula is light, odourless and totally natural. For those with thick dry hair, The Amazing Blog  recommends this hair perfecting oil for a quick and simple way to maintain the style and shine that we all love.

For those of you that don’t know, Tim Scott Wright he is the youngest ever 'inductee' into the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame and the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year. So as an added bonus the release of Salon Secret Exlicir also marked the release of biOgranics’ Youtube channel which is full of tutorials instructed by Tim himself. During the video, Tim shows how to use the Hair Perfecting Oil to achieve two salon-inspired looks that are fit for any catwalk. A small 12ml bottle is well-priced at £3.99 and the larger 50 ml bottle is only £12.99. Why not 'Head over' to their website to buy your own today.

Concoction

How often do try a new shampoo and think “If only it could smell a bit more like my favourite scent," or “Why can’t it also enhance my hair colour too…”  Well, you don't have to dream anymore – enter  Concoction whose ‘Science meets Glamour Mixology’ mixes your hair preferences to create your own personal hair product.  This is the latest brainwave created by Alex Epstein (a courageous ex-Apprentice) who has cleverly seen a niche in the haircare marketplace. I briefly caught up with Alex at a recent iFabbo Conference, which he also attended.  Alex kindly asked me what I wanted from a shampoo and promised to ‘Concoct’  me a very special formula to meet my needs… I could hardly wait! My Concoction had to meet several criteria: to be able to enrich my brunette hair type, offer nourishment as well as good protection from the dreaded hair straightener, and not to mention I can't stand that artificial floral smell that is used to fragrance many of the high street brands.  A tall order?  Perhaps, but if you don’t ask you don’t get! A few days later my order arrived in Bakhour Fragrance (hint of sandalwood, ambergris and musk), with Beautiful Brunette Serum (with natural walnut extract as colour enhancer), and Thermo Straight Super Serum (heat activated thermo-polimers which protect heat damage as well as aloe and cucumber giving extra hydration). I've been using this Concoction shampoo for nearly two weeks and I notice two things in particular, one  that my hair is smoother (hardly need my Tangle Teezer) and two that it’s glossier. On a more practical level it works really well with my existing conditioner (Ojon).

Concoction is available from £12.50 (free UK P&P) for 250ml which includes two shots and fragrance, it is also paraben & silicone free.  I will definitely reorder and I certainly can’t wait for the launch of their conditioner - the combination of the two products will be sure to go above and beyond my expectations as well!
