Coconut Chia Muffins Mix - Ugg Foods

Here at The Amazing Blog, we understand how difficult it can be to find healthy, delicious foods that cater to those with diets restricted by allergies or intolerances. Ugg Foods makes it easier by providing quick mix kits for healthy and delicious treats that are gluten free, grain free, dairy free, soya free, yeast free, additive free, low glycaemic, diabetic friendly, have no added sugar and are tooth friendly. For those that are looking for natural, healthy ways of eating, these mixes also conform to Paleo and Caveman diets. The ingredients used in Ugg foods mixes will help stabilise your blood sugar, reducing cravings for harmful carbs and leaving you truly satisfied.

We were given the opportunity to test out their Coconut Chia Muffins quick ready mix pack. Much like regular cake mix, all we needed to do was to add eggs, olive oil, and almond or coconut milk. Unlike regular cake mix, there is no added sugar and no gluten! The mix can be used very flexibly, so if you want to use it for raw vegan recipes or if you want to add fruit, you can personalise it to your own needs. The Ugg Foods website also has a recipes section to help you out if you run out of ideas!

Grab a package of the Coconut Chia Muffins mix for yourself or for your health-conscious friends here for £7.95.

Edible Insects - Grub

Here at The Amazing Blog, we like to believe that we’re adventurous people. So, when we came across Grub, a unique UK food company offering edible insects, we decided to give them a try.

Now, this snack is definitely not for the squeamish or faint of heart, so we apologise if the title startled you a little bit—but it’s actually not as bad as it seems! In fact, it’s actually pretty tasty. Admittedly, we did hesitate for a moment when we opened the package, but as soon as you try one, you might even find yourself going back for more (we certainly did).

So far we’ve only tried the flavoured roasted crickets, but Grub also offers fudge with crickets for snacking as well. And if you’re more interested in the culinary side of things, Grub provides unflavoured mealworms, grasshoppers, bull worms, and crickets along with a variety of tasty recipes for each of them. If you’re unsure of where to begin, there’s also a starter pack for your convenience. So why even bother eating insects, you might ask? Well it’s not as strange as you might think. Roasted insects are a staple in people’s diets all over the world. They’re incredibly high in nutrition and they’re sustainable too! Some even say that it’s the food of the future.

If you’d like to pick up some new snacks or experiment in the kitchen, take a look at the entire Grub line here.

Beauty Vitamin - Vitness

Here at The Amazing Blog, we know that beauty comes from maintaining a healthy lifestyle. That is why we pay just as close attention to what we eat and drink as what we put on our faces. Luckily, we’ve just come across a tonic that makes us feel good both inside and out.

Vitness BEAUTY VITAMIN gives our skin the ultimate boost! Each bottle is packed with skin-firming collagen peptides, potent antioxidant Resveratrol, and anti-aging vitamins to hydrate, illuminate, and revitalise the complexion. As a bonus, the drink is also low in sugar and lightly sparkling to speed up absorption of the ingredients. It comes in three fragrant flavours: cucumber & melon, elderflower & chilli, and rhubarb & rose. We tried the elderflower & chilli flavour, and it really awakened our senses!

Vitness BEAUTY VITAMIN tonic will be soon available to buy on their website. For the time being, you can currently get it at Harrods, Harvey Nichols nationwide, Grace Belgravia, Equinox Gym and high end retailers in Dubai.

Brownie Boxes - Bad Brownie

Here at The Amazing Blog we are self-confessed chocoholics. We love anything chocolatey, and we really cannot get enough of it. So you can imagine our delight when a big box from Bad Brownie arrived at our office. Within seconds there was not a single crumb left.

We were sent the chefs selection box. This box included 24 heavenly brownie bites, which should be enough to eat between 5-8 people (although we could have one box each), and has a selection of 6 different mouth-watering flavours. They keep changing their specials and the brownies you may get are usually all different, but no need to worry! they are all delicious and the box will always include the three most popular flavours: Salted Caramel, Triple Chocolate and Peanut butter. Bad Brownie use fairtrade chocolate and free range eggs to make sure everyone benefits from their brownies. They also produce a gluten free ingredient salted caramel brownie which tastes identical to the standard one. This Salted Caramel brownie, apart from being their best seller, it was also our favourite. We loved the crumble and caramel combination, irresistible!

Satisfy your sweet tooth and treat yourself to these brownies for £25 here.

Mother's Day Guide

Here at The Amazing Blog, our Mums are the most important women in our lives. Every year, we try to take advantage of Mother’s Day to show our Mums just how much they mean to us. We know you’d like to do the same, so to help you out we’ve come up with a few ideas for you to show your appreciation.

South Place Brunch

Delight your mum with a three-course menu for brunch this Sunday. South Place Hotel is offering a specialty menu for Mother’s Day Brunch from 12noon - 4pm. The event features the best of British seasonal ingredients, with dishes like fillet of stone-bass, honey-glazed chicken wings, and celeriac risotto with a wild mushroom sauce. Alongside this scrumptious meal you’ll be entertained by live jazz from the Audioguide trio.

South Place is also offering a complimentary neck and shoulder massage for mums, plus a hand-picked goodie bag of treats from the hotel’s partners including Butterfly and the Bee, East Wick, and James Heeley.

The Mother’s Day Menu at 3 South Place is available for £30. Visit the website here for more information and to see the full menu.

Katherine Elizabeth Millinery Masterclass

Is your Mum the classy, fashionable type? Does she enjoy DIY projects as well? If that’s the case, Mother’s Day might be the perfect opportunity to surprise her with a voucher for a four and a half hour hat making masterclass at Katherine Elizabeth Millinery.

You and your Mum will love soaking up some of award-winning Katherine Elizabeth’s skills and techniques, and you’ll walk out with a few new headpieces as well! The classes are taught on Thursday evenings and some Wednesdays depending on availability from 4.30pm - 9pm.

See here to purchase a voucher for a Katherine Elizabeth Masterclass at a discounted price of £48.

Orchidya

We think that there is nothing better than to give our Mums an orchid plant – it is a symbol of love, luxury, beauty, and strength. Not forgetting to mention that compared to roses or cut flowers, Orchid plants will last for weeks. Try ordering some flowers from Orchidya, the only florist in the UK that’s dedicated to the exotic blooms.

Historically, orchids have been imported overseas to UK suppliers, making it difficult to create larger arrangements. However, this isn’t a problem for Orchidya, as the majority of the orchids are grown right in their glasshouse in Lincolnshire. Having this UK based supply means Orchidya is free to be more creative while being priced competitively.
