Soupologie

As winter approaches our healthy diets are often set aside as cravings for warm comfort food set in. Here at The Amazing Blog we wanted to find something that incorporates both, behold Soupologie’s Soup to Go range. Each soup to go is dairy and gluten free and packed with a host of highly nutritional super foods; they are a perfect lunch item to keep you feeling full until dinner.

Soupologie provide unique and imaginative flavours from Curried Sweet Potato, Coconut and Raw Cacao, to Cauliflower, Kale and Black Garlic. We were able to try these two from the range; they tasted fresh, creamy and rich with flavour. We loved the addition of the toppings for an extra boost of nutrition. These vary from flavour to flavour, including Toasted Coconut Flakes and Sunflower Seeds.

This is certainly not your average soup range, each one is well thought out and combined with complimentary textures and flavours. Lunch will never be the same again. They are low in calories with no added sugar, glucose or dairy to compromise the fresh flavour and quality ingredients that is synonymous with Soupologie.

Cawston Press – Sparkling Drinks

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love nothing more than sipping on a can of something fizzy. However so many of them are too sweet and sickly, leaving us with what feels like a layer of fur on our teeth. Not to mention the countless artificial ingredients that we unwittingly put into our bodies. We were therefore suitably excited when Cawston Press created their range of sparkling drinks.

Cawston Press has maintained their aim to make delicious soft drinks using only quality ingredients, the finest fruit is picked at harvest and the juice used is pressed rather than concentrated. This gives the sparkling drinks the freshness of flavour that is blended to perfection with other ingredients from their kitchen garden. The variation in colours, tastes, and textures of the apple makes it the staple ingredient in all of Cawston Press’ drinks, including their new sparkling variety.

We had the chance to try the Ginger Beer and Elderflower Lemonade, there are only a few ingredients used but Cawston Press do not compromise on taste. The Ginger Beer has a crisp, almost dry taste to it with the inclusion of fiery ginger extracts; on the other hand the Elderflower Lemonade is fairly sweet, light and extremely fragrant due to the infusion of elderflower. In comparison to other sparkling soft drinks, these are fairly low in sugar. Now there will be no guilty conscious after treating ourselves to a delicious and refreshing sparkling drink.

Make sure you treat yourself to a guilt-free soft drink; get yours here for 99p per can or £3.50 for 6.

POPS - Premium Ice Popsicles

There is something so nostalgic about a popsicle; childhood memories come flooding back of those summer days running to the ice cream van, pennies in hand. Here at The Amazing Blog we've been revisiting those cherished childhood moments, but with a twist. POPS have created adult only Premium Ice Popsicles using Champagne. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?

We had the opportunity to try out their Classic, and Prosecco & Peach Bellini flavours, as well as the Apple & Elderflower from the non-alcoholic range. POPS have certainly brought some childhood enthusiasm back to our offices. Come lunch time, we were running to the freezer with the same excitement we once had when we heard the ice cream van passing. The packaging is bright, fun, and fitting to each lolly; yellow and pink champagne glasses are printed on the Classic and Bellini pops, whereas the Apple & Elderflower is aptly decorated with a background of green apples.

The creators of the 'world's first Champagne Ice Popsicle' have caught the eye of poparazzi like Miley Cyrus, Kate Moss, Gordon Ramsey (who is notoriously difficult to please) and Jack Whitehall. Their rising popularity has seen them visit various events, including Glastonbury Festival, Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Royal Henley Regatta. We loved the freshness of the natural ingredients. The Classic contains 37% real champagne, and tasted just as though we were drinking a glass of cold, crisp bubbly, just what we needed after a long day at work. What’s more, they are all under 100 calories! A truly guilt free treat, just what we love. Although it should be noted that, with a 4.3% ABV, these alcoholic pops really are only suitable for adults, no matter how much childish glee they inspire.

If you want to try your own adult-exclusive popsicle, buy yours here (Classic) and here (Bellini) for £4 each.

Frill - The Frozen Smoothie

Here at the Amazing Blog we feel that no one should miss out on a good dessert, therefore we were particularly excited about the creation of The Frozen Smoothie by Frill. It is an irresistible frozen treat free from dairy and gluten, making it vegan friendly and safe for anyone with gluten or lactose intolerances. Frill Frozen Smoothies contain half the sugar and 10 times the fibre of regular ice cream as well as being low in sodium and fat, finally we can enjoy a truly guilt free dessert!

Frill can be enjoyed when frozen but if left in room temperature for a couple of hours it becomes a rich, creamy mousse. The various flavours include Intense Chocolate, Refreshing Green, and Bursting Berries; we were lucky enough to try these particular flavours and were not disappointed. They are all delicious, the chocolate frill was rich and smooth, while the bursting berries was sweet and refreshing. We loved the personal touches on the pot’s logo; on each flavour the polar bear image wears a different expression. If you ever find yourself in a rush, add nut milk to Intense Chocolate, or fruit juice to Bursting Berries and Refreshing Green, a nutritious breakfast smoothie that can be whipped up in no time.

This is a fun, delicious and healthy dessert that is perfect for everyone, no matter their age or if they have specific diets/eating requirements. Diet goers everywhere raise a spoon to the new Holy Grail sweet treat. Wave goodbye to frozen yoghurt and say hello to Frill, get your hands on it here for £5.75.

Lushice Sorbets

Cocktails are certainly a guilty pleasure of ours here at The Amazing Blog, when we heard about the new Lushice Sorbets we couldn’t wait to get our hands on them. Inspired by our favourite classic cocktails, the sorbets are deeply refreshing and also a little naughty with the addition of Rum or Tequila. Finally a dessert that the kids can’t get their hands on!

The clue is really in the name, these desserts are truly rich and luscious. Lushice uses quality fruit juices and purees to give a sweet, potent flavour, and the addition of alcohol gives the sorbet a very smooth consistency. The flavours include Mojito, Margarita, Pina Colada, and Strawberry Daiquiri, we loved that there is a flavour for different taste buds. The Mojito and Margarita sorbets have gone on to win a Gold Star each at the Great Taste Awards in 2013 and 2014. This comes as no surprise to us as we loved the sweetness and freshness of the flavours.

The packaging is clean and crisp, with beautiful detailing in the shape of a cocktail glass. Each flavour has a different colour and images representing the fruit inside it and imagery of its background. For example, the Margarita pot includes images of a sombrero and cactus, expressing the cocktail’s Mexican origin.  The sorbets were unique and delicious, a perfect naughty and refreshing dessert to enjoy with your grown-up friends and family.

If you want to try a truly Lushice sorbet, order yours here today for £4.95 each.
