Beauty Kitchen:Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask & The Beauty Boosting BB Cream

Organic, natural and cruelty-free are the three things we value above all else at The Amazing Blog, not forgetting to add the word 'effective' then they’re our top four. We think that there is nothing as important as treating your skin with carefully chosen and natural products, in particular for those of you with sensitive skin. Beauty Kitchen is a brand who are dedicated to this quad of beliefs. We came across this new brand at the CEW product showcase for their 2017 awards earlier this year. They only make 100% effective, natural and affordable products that are tested on people never animals. We were lucky enough to be sent two products from their Seahorse Plankton Skincare Treasures collection, where a percentage of their profits go to The Sea Horse Trust. The two products were The Beauty Boosting BB Cream and the 5 Minute Miracle Mask.

The Beauty Kitchen Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask is 100% natural. It contains biologically proven seahorse plankton microalgae for an instant skin detox which will cleanse, stimulate, firm and plump the face, neck and décolletage. This product was a finalist at the CEW Awards 2017 and we know why. The mask left our face looking refreshed and glowing and was the perfect way to aid a chill-out on a rainy Sunday afternoon. To use, just apply a thin layer to the face, neck and décolletage before sitting back and relaxing for 5-15 minutes. Remove with warm water and for further skin stimulation uses a linen face cloth or a Konjac sponge. Applying the Beauty Boosting BB Cream before makeup, led to perfectly even coverage and tone for our foundation. By using it alone it added a slight tint to the face and it effortlessly balanced our complexion. Providing excellent coverage, the BB Cream also compliments all skin tones and types, acting as a base from which to add.

Red Hedy and So Mod Pink by Rodin Olio Lusso

No makeup bag is complete without a perfect red and pink shade (or four!), but it can be a complicated and long process finding the perfect colour to suit your skin tone or even the season. Suddenly, the shades you’ve been using for months and months are too deep and wintery; they clash with your new summer wardrobe and sit heavily on your recently tanned face. All of us at The Amazing Blog have discussed how annoying this realisation can be.  So when Rodin Olio Lusso was brought to our attention, we were immediately entranced by their classic colours. All of their shades have that all important summer pop and brightness without washing you out or turning you into a caricature.

What we truly love about this brand is the simplicity of it all, they have chosen quality over quantity, and sometimes this very simple truth is too often forgotten in the beauty industry. The desire to create a brand defined by simple beauty stems from their founder Linda Rodin, who was a successful model in the sixties and now in her sixties is the model of spare elegance. Her entire ethos is the simpler, the better, which is entirely evident in her lipstick collection. Only five fabulous shades are available, but all of them are perfect. We tried the Red Hedy and the So Mod Pink in hopes of finding the perfect summer shades. Those hopes were happily met. The Red Hedy, combines old Hollywood glamour with a pop of modernity, to make the perfect blend of nostalgic and contemporary beauty. The lipstick was named after the compelling and painfully beautiful 1930’s and 1940s actress Hedy Lamarr. More than a pretty face, Hedy invented technology that helped defeat the Axis power’s jamming of Allied Radio Communications during WWII. A gorgeous lipstick also named after an amazing woman with brains and beauty is enough to give us a much-needed confidence boost. The So Mod Pink combines the vibrancy of the sixties with the muted statement pieces of the Mod trend. The shade is a muted almost nude rosy pink, that is the perfect shade for those light summer days, where you want your lips to assist with a look rather than be the focus.

You can purchase Red Hedy here for £28.00 and So Mod Pink here for £28.00. While you’re there, definitely have a look at the other colours and let us know what you think!

Brow Fibre Extend by Eye of Horus

It’s no big secret that The Amazing Blog is a huge fan of strong brows, so if you combine that with our favourite Australian make-up brand, Eye of Horus, get ready for an effusive post. We have, for a long time now, been in love with Eye of Horus. Not only are their cosmetics fabulous and long-lasting, but they are cruelty-free, vegan-approved, paraben free and rich in precious oils and waxes.  There is a reason that this brand continues to pick up award after award, most recently winning Best Mascara and Best Eyeliner at the 2017 Beauty Shortlist Awards, and it’s because of the quality of their ingredients. Their new Brow Fibre Extend collection continues to incorporate ancient ingredients to deliver the highest quality products possible to make you feel like a real goddess. The Brow Fibre Extend is the first of a few exciting products that Eye of Horus is releasing over the next few months, so watch this space!

The Brow Fibre Extend creates fuller, thicker and more volumised brows. With a buildable formula, the product lengthens and thickens eyebrows and fills any patches or imperfections effortlessly, creating a natural but defined look. This new, waterproof range is available in three shades; Dark (Nile), Medium (Dynasty) and Light (Husk).  Mineral pigments are used to give a subtle and natural colour to the products. The long-wearing formula contains two types of seaweed (Canaliculate Extract and Laminaria Digitata) as well as Moringa Oil, which assist in brow hair growth and health. The micro applicator allows for both a delicate feathered look and a bold, impactful look.

The Brow Fibre Extend is a great day-to-day product that instantly adds definition and volume in one smooth stroke, making it perfect for the girl on the go. You can buy your very own Brow Fibre Extend for £19 from My Beauty World here, so go and become the goddess you were born to be.

ColourPro by Eleni and Chris

The Amazing Blog is a huge fan of Eleni and Chris, and we were lucky enough in the past to have been sent some samples from the anti-ageing skincare range. The results of these products were fantastic, so we were keen to try some more of their miracle beauty products. Thankfully, Eleni and Chris very kindly sent us three products from their colour protection haircare range to review; the ColourPro Shampoo and Conditioner and the ColourPro Leave-In Treatment Spray.

Like their anti-ageing products, the champion ingredient in these products is the cloudberry. Cloudberries can withstand Artic and sub-Artic temperatures which makes cloudberry oil particularly rich in essential fatty acids, phytosterols and antioxidants; all of which are necessary for the maintenance of hair health after adding colour to it. The Shampoo and Conditioner have a highly concentrated formula that protects newly dyed hair, injecting moisture into to it to prevent it from drying out. The ingredients also help to protect hair from UV radiation to maintain colour vibrancy and prevent it from fading. Together they leave hair nourished and shinier than you’d ever have thought dyed hair could be. The leave-in treatment is easy to use and can be applied every day if you so wish. It is also a very effective treatment for those of you who haven’t coloured your hair. It adds an extra level of moisture and is an additional treatment we highly recommend if you want to have healthy and luscious locks. Don't just take it from us though! This won The Beauty Shortlist Award for Best Product for Colour Treated Hair in 2017.

If you want to have these award-winning products for yourself you can purchase the Shampoo here for £25.00, the Conditioner here for £27.00, and the Leave-In Conditioner here for £29.00.

Daily Moisturiser, Defining Oil and Vibrancy Serum by Electric Ink

Tattoos are a beautiful and unique form of self-expression, one that has been around for thousands of years and is continuing to grow in popularity. Despite all this and the growing acceptance of tattoos in society, there is still a stigma that surrounds them. One of the most common ‘questions’ – although it’s more of an exclamation – is, “but aren’t you scared it’ll look bad when you’re old, and it’s faded?” Well, if you get asked this a lot and maybe it is a fear of yours, The Amazing Blog has the solution. The brand is called Electric Ink, and they specialise in Tattoo preservation products, which are also vegan approved. We can't think of a better time than now as the sun is out and so is our bare skin and ink.

Electric Ink has three fabulous aftercare products that are packed with active ingredients to keep your tattoos looking fresh and vibrant, as well as keeping your skin nourished. The first product is their Daily Moisturiser. The moisturiser contains Liftonin-Xpert which helps to reduce signs of redness and inflammation and supports the intensity of the tattoo ink helping it to remain more defined for longer. The Inca Inchi Oil and Coconut Oil in the cream help to maintain skin's hydration and improve skin's elasticity to help prevent tattoos from sagging. The second product is the Vibrancy Serum which also has Liftonin-Xpert and Inca Inchi Oil, as well as Vitamin C. The latter helps to protect skin from sun damage and reduces signs of redness and inflammation. The serum also contains Amino Acids which act as a skin conditioner, regulating the pH-balance to improve the clarity of the skin. The final product is the Defining Body Oil, which moisturises while delivering gloss and clarity for a fresh ink look. The oil shares similar ingredients to the other products but crucially contains White Lupin Seed Extract which is rich in Lupeol, helping to keep skin firm.

If you want to protect the vibrancy and vivacity of your tattoos then you can get the Daily Moisturiser here for £10.95, the Serum here for £12.95 and the Body Oil here for £10.95.
