PÉRGATIS – Brows Revitalising Solution

It’s no secret that eyebrows seem to be a current beauty obsession. At The Amazing Blog, we’re big fans of all eyebrow products, particularly those that will help them grow! Looking at the brow icon Cara Delevingne, it makes us all want to have those thick, perfect and shapely brows. Many brow trends come and go and unfortunately for some of us this has led to over-plucking, which has now caused gaps and thinning. We heard lots of good things about the Pérgatis products, so when received the Pérgatis Brows Revitalising Solution to strengthen and thicken the brows, our reaction was something like what Ariana Grande would say: ‘I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it’.

Over 15 years ago, Dr Amir Jafri who is a medical doctor by training, began to experience hair loss and was introduced to a natural haircare product based in Malaysia. After seeing the unbelievable results, he decided to invest in this brand. Initially launching in the Asian market, the satisfaction rate was high and thus the demand grew so fast, that’s when he decided to take the brand global, hence creating Pérgatis, the personal care group. As a pioneer in the field of hair growth and also with his experience and background in business management, Pérgatis was assured an outstanding start. The name Pérgatis derives from the work Pergamon, an ancient city in Turkey (now known as Bergama). This city was recognised worldwide due to Galen, the man that revolutionised the knowledge of human health, and therefore, the brand wanted to pay homage.

Pérgatis Brows is a 100% natural product that’s rooted in Ayurvedic methodology. The main ingredients are nigella sativa seed oil, black mustard extract, olive oil, sesame seed oil and hydrogenated egg oil; all of which enhances the growth of the brows making them stronger and thicker. Easy to apply by gently massaging 1 or 2 drops of Pérgatis into your brows, then leave the product on until fully absorbed, which is about 4 hours (or it can even be left on overnight). NB when applied at night the liquid is dark amber in colour, so they suggest covering your pillow to avoid staining the bed linen. Pérgatis Brows will help to create voluminsed brows filling in imperfections . Results are normally visible in approximately 6 weeks – we did notice a slight density at 4 weeks but we still need to persevere a little longer to see more of a difference.

You can buy your 10ml dropper bottle of Pérgatis Brows here for £39.00 and make it part of your daily routine, to help achieve those defined and full eyebrows you have always longed for.

Fushi - Wild, Cold-Pressed Pomegranate Oil 80%+

We love to support indie brands here at The Amazing Blog particularly those that source their ingredients seasonally. This is why we always want to try new products from Fushi. They have just launched a new product: Wild, Cold-Pressed Pomegranate Oil 80%+ sustainably sourced from South Africa utilising the entire Pomegranate fruit making sure it’s free from artificial ingredients and chemicals. What we love about this product is that it’s also food grade too – so can be taken sprinkled liberally not only on your face but on your favourite cereal, salad or smoothies!

Founded by Ria Pattni and Rannesh Jansari, Fushi the brand was created to keep ancient techniques alive. Passed on from Ria’s grandmother, to her mother and then onto her originating mainly from Ayurvedic recipes. The products are composed of natural oils and herbs all hand-blended to create organic, ethical and pure formulas to primarily enhance skin rejuvenation. As mentioned previously in our post on their BioVedid range, Fushi means ‘eternal life’ in Japanese. Their products maintain the essence of natural remedies used in the past, with a modern touch. Fushi not only takes care of your skin but also the planet. They are members of the Ethical Company Organisation workers and suppliers, as well as being a member of the Ethical Company Organisation and the Good Shopping Guide, as well as supporting Fair Trade with their inventions.

The Fushi Wild, Cold-Pressed Pomegranate Oil 80%+ is a new formula rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, linoleic acid, oleic acid and flavonoids that by altering the way it is produced, the punicic acid, better known as Omega 5 has been boosted to over 80%. Increasing Omega 5 has made this oil perfect for anti-ageing, heart health, stronger immunity, and more. It is believed that Fushi has cracked the code and created the first pomegranate oil 80%+ in the market. No one likes greasy or heavy oils, and this is where it scores well as Fushi’s Pomegranate Oil is light and absorbent, making it non-greasy and ideal for mature, normal, damaged and skins. Apart from the topical application, pomegranate oil is high in flavonoids and antioxidants, which makes it a popular dietary supplement. All packaged in amber glass bottles which protect the contents from heat, light, oxidation and moisture. We’re already thinking of ordering another bottle before we run out! soapNskin - Skin Cashmere Face & Body Mask

Most of us have long perfected the art of our regular skincare routine. At The Amazing Blog, we love to put our best face forward, but then often end up forgetting about the rest of our body. It’s time to start developing a proper daily body care regimen too, it’s as important to take care of the skin on your body, as it is the skin on your face. One of our favourite brands soapNskin, who recently launched a very special mask that we’ve been waiting to try with anticipation! Regular readers may recall how much we love this brand, when we featured their Argan & Orange Blossom Elixir here .

Founded based on friendship and heritage, soapNskin was created to empower women to change the way they see beauty. Beauty has been a part of culture for thousands of years and soapNskin pulled from some of that ancient beauty wisdom. Drawing inspiration from the mystical Silk Roads of the East, founders Rabia & Samar learned that nature, when harnessed correctly, offers interesting alternatives to chemical-based products. Every product from soapNskin is hand-bottled on demand, in their London studio. Freshness and quality is not something they’re prepared to compromise on when it comes to beauty, and they certainly prove this. We love how everything is made in Britain, cruelty-free, natural and that they support empowerment and gender-quality, providing a fair wage for workers where their ingredients are sourced.

Today we decided to pay homage to the more neglected parts of our skin with the Skin Cashmere Face & Body Mask. After cleansing your skin, simply combine the Skin Cashmere with your favourite floral water (we used rose water) and mix it into a thick paste. It’s quite fun to mix the Skin Cashmere yourself and apply it to the skin. Leave it on for 5-7 minutes, allowing the ingredients to soak into the skin, then remove with a warm damp cloth before the mask dries. It left our skin feeling fragrant, cleansed, hydrated and smooth, after rinsing off the mask we followed with applying our regular body moisturiser. The Skin Cashmere Mask is inspired by the ancient bridal rituals of the region of Kashmir, the mask contains rose petal, turmeric and sandalwood powders to protect the skin from ageing and pollutants. It also contains yoghurt and chickpea powders which exfoliate nicely and leave your skin glowing and silky. Kashmiri brides have practiced this tradition for hundreds of years to achieve cashmere-like skin and now you can, too. We urge you to discover a true test of time, with the soapNskin’s Skin Cashmere Face & Body Mask, a pot of 100g can be purchased here for £55.

Urban Cordial

As the temperature rises, our taste buds are craving something refreshing to cool us down, and the array of choice in the soft drinks sector is greater than ever before. However, with our awareness primed these days to know exactly what we are drinking, the challenge now is to source the perfect taste, but without all those sugary additives which are going to send our glucose levels rocketing. Fortunately, we at  The Amazing Blog only have to look as far as  Urban Cordial who have brought their delicious concoctions to market with a mouth-watering array of pairings. How do Strawberry & Sage , Pear & Ginger, Blackberry & Lavender or Apple, Lemon & Fennel  sound as an introduction to the range? Pretty impressive, when further investigation revealed that these tantalising flavours are just the tip of the iceberg - or should that be ice cube?

Now, a cordial may conjure up images of Grandma’s pantry, but these colourful offerings pack quite a punch in the zing department - both in each bottle’s contents, and also outside on each brightly illustrated label. All of course are alcohol free, and made from the best ingredients, although Urban Cordial are justly proud of bringing these to us with a laudable mission of sourcing their fruit on quality of taste and nutrients, rather than how they may be shaped! In a bid to incorporate a solution to the serious global problem of food surplus, Urban Cordial do not discriminate on appearance and is to be congratulated on saving over 30 tonnes of fruit from landfill.

Each bottle costs £5.50 plus £4.99 p&p, and the complete range is available for the bargain bulk price of £44.00 and with p&p free on orders over £40 here everyone’s a winner! However, some small independent grocery stores and also one or two of the larger high street names are taking up the option to supply, so getting our hands on these wonderful libations, is thankfully, becoming easier for all of us.

Albiva - ECM Advanced Repair Brightening Serum

Everyone knows that the weather conditions here in the UK are wildly unpredictable. One minute it’s rain, the next sun, and who knows what the following day might be doing - snowing?! All these temperature changes effect our skin with varying degrees of dryness or break-outs. Which prompted our mission at The Amazing Blog to look for a natural skincare to protect and nourish it rain or shine. This is where we’d like to introduce you to Albiva (who we met at the CEW Awards showcase) a new natural skincare where science meets nature, and they kindly sent us their ECM Advanced Repair Brightening Serum to try out.

Ivana Iesini founder of Albiva, was diagnosed with a spinal tumour at the age of 28, where she was having to combine so many conventional medicines, that it started to make her feel worse. During her months of recuperation, she thought about her grandmother, Albina who was a herbalist. She remembered the natural remedies that she was introduced to from an early age, and the power of all these botanicals used to help heal and regenerate the body. Her journey into launching Albiva had begun. The name is a portmanteau combining the name of Ivana’s grandmother and her own. Ivana combined her knowledge of these natural remedies, her studies in biomedical sciences together with embracing an organic way of life, and bingo! From this, Albiva skincare gradually took shape combining her knowledge of science and natural compounds, all collated from sustainable sources. Another thing that sets this brand apart is their use of ‘gemmotherapy’ (an advanced branch of phytotherapy, which isolates the active ingredients from the embryonic tissues of plants). They also remove plain water from their formulations, where Albiva prides itself on replacing the plain water with COSMOS certified organic Raspberry water, this in itself is an active ingredient renowned for firming, lifting and smoothing properties. There are skin-identical and cell communicating ingredients, all designed to stimulate cell regeneration using the skin’s own cell biology. Let’s not forget to mention the ultra-hydrating blend of botanical extracts, powerful antioxidants, collagen supporting ingredients, peptides, ceramides, compound of oligo-elements, phyto-stimulins, nucleid acids, marine algae extracts, essential fatty acids and many more. Now you know why this brand is so very special!

The ECM Advanced Repair Brightening Serum (ECM means extra cellular matrix) combats hyperpigmentation (age spots) and equalises the skin texture providing natural minerals and vitamins that the skin might be lacking. This serum rejuvenates and restores damaged skin by combining an array of natural botanicals: Mallow, Peppermint, Cowslip, Lady’s Mantle, Speedwell, Melissa, and Yarrow together with Swiss Garden Cress extract; all to enhance the complexion protecting it from environmental damage. It is vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologically tested, contains 77% of certified organic ingredients and 92% of natural ingredients. We like that it’s light in texture, absorbs quickly (no oiliness), with the subtlest of fragrance and left our skin feeling hydrated and looking brighter. We used it under our regular moisturiser and SPF primer, and were pleased to note that it complemented these other products. This serum is suitable for all skin types, so whether you are combating age spots or the effects of the erratic UK summer weather, the ECM Advanced Repair Brightening Serum is going to be your perfect ally. This is one brand to keep an eye on, as we’ll predict they’ll being going places…. To get your very own special serum, go to Albiva’s website here 30ml for £195.00.
